# My Google review isn't showing for other people

You left a review, you can see it, nobody else can. Usually it is still being checked; sometimes it was removed and will not come back.

## Quick answer

A review you have posted is normally still being checked against Google's policies, which Google says can take a few days. If it broke a policy it was removed, and Google says removed reviews will not be restored.

## Check this first

- [ ] Open Google Maps, go to your own contributions, and check the review is still listed there.
- [ ] Look at the business on a different device while signed out.
- [ ] Update Google Maps to the latest version and look again.

## Causes

### Your phone or app is out of date

- Status: Fixable - You can sort this yourself.
- Google says customers who use older phones or software might have trouble when they try to leave reviews.
- Fix: Update Google Maps to the latest version and post the review again.

### It is still being checked

- Status: Check first - Usually resolves itself. Check, then wait.
- Google says reviews are checked to ensure that they comply with its policies, and that in some cases this process might take a few days, which can delay a review's appearance on a profile.
- Fix: Wait a few days, then look again while signed out.

### It broke one of Google's content policies

- Status: Can’t be fixed - The platform’s rules say no. We say so plainly.
- Google's content policy bars fake and misleading content, incentivised or biased reviews, off-topic commentary, harassment, personal information and advertising, among others. Google says reviews removed for policy violations will not be restored.
- Fix: Nothing to do. If the point you wanted to make is about your own experience at the place, a rewritten review that sticks to that experience can be posted again.

### That business cannot receive reviews

- Status: Can’t be fixed - The platform’s rules say no. We say so plainly.
- Google says reviews are available only in certain countries or regions and for certain business categories, and that reviews and ratings are removed and disabled for profiles primarily categorised as educational institutions for students aged 6 to 18.
- Fix: Nothing to do. The business cannot receive reviews at all, from anyone.

Checked 2026-10-02.

You posted a Google review, it saved, and now nobody else can see it.

The likeliest explanation is dull. Google checks reviews against its policies before they appear, and says that can take a few days. So a review can sit there, visible to you on your own contributions page, while the check runs — which is why the first thing to do is look at the business while signed out. If it broke a policy it was removed, and Google says removed reviews will not be restored.

The checklist below separates the two. The causes after it are sorted by who can act: you, or nobody.

## Questions people ask

### How long does Google take to publish a review I wrote?

Google says the policy check can take a few days.

### Why can I see my review when nobody else can?

Your own contributions page shows reviews that are not public yet. Check the business while signed out to see what everyone else sees.

### Can I appeal a review of mine that Google removed?

The appeal route Google documents is for a business reporting a review, not for the person who wrote one. Google says reviews removed for policy violations will not be restored.
